Gare du Nord & luggage lockers?

Hi everyone.
Our last day in Paris- we need to leave our apartment at 11 but the plane doesn't leave until 8PM. I see there is a train from Gare du Nord to the airport and also that there are luggage lockers at this train station. Does anyone have experience using these? How safe do you consider them? We'd love to do something nearby the last few hours in Paris without having to lug around our backpacks.

They are very safe, just that sometimes the line is a bit long so be sure to allow time for that. Basically you have to put your luggage through an x-ray machine before they will store it.
