G7 iPhone app sign up issues

Downloaded the app, followed directions for creating account, got to verification but never received the SMS code. US based cell phone, registered with my cell number using the +1 prefix...what am I doing wrong?

An overseas call from France to the US is 001-plus your number.

I had the same issue, so I contacted them via email to the address listed on their website and received a response within 48 hours. The response said they do not send verification codes via SMS to their international users. That said, they still set up an account for me. Will see if I can locate that email address.

An overseas call from France to the US is 001-plus your number.

The only format offered was a preset +1. You select your country from a long list, and that is the code that fills in.

I also see no indication I have an account with them. I can't sign in with the password I set up. I tried to reset the password, and did not receive the reset instructions via email (the site says if the email provided is associated with an account, you will receive instructions - all I can figure is my account never was established because I did not receive the verification code via SMS...).

Oh well, not worth the bother. Hard to understand why this is a glitch for G7 because SMS codes are not "phone calls"...I am able to send and receive texts to/from friends in France.

As noted you are not doing anything wrong. What I did was set up my account on my laptop and then download the app and sign in using my user name and password. That is what I did and I have the app on my phone and it works fine.

It makes a difference because G7 does not "they do not send verification codes via SMS to their international users." They do not send a verification code via SMS when you sign into your account from the App. That is only done when you create the account on the app. You have to confirm who you are to set up the account and that is done by sending a code to your email but once you know the user name and password, they do not message you from the app to confirm your identity.

Thanks to all who responded. I am giving the phone app a pass, I decided I don't really need it...or as my mama used to say, too much sugar for a dime.

I will leave the thread intact since others reported the same problem, and good advice was given on how to work around it.
