From Nice, France to LAX: 90 minutes layover in CDG? Enough time or not?

Looking at return flights from Nice, France to LAX with 90 minutes layover in CDG - enough time? We are not sure if we need to change planes. If yes, 90 minutes enough time? Or will we end up missing our connecting flight? Thanks.

Are your flights on one ticket?

Don't know. We haven't bought them because I was worried about the layover time. I have read other posts that if you have a layover in CDG from another country like Italy (Rome), you need more time to do the passport check and to find your new terminal, etc (some have even said 3 hrs). However Nice is in France, so it is a domestic flight but we do need to "change" planes - but we don't know if we would have to go to another (farther away terminal. And maybe we have already done the passport check in Nice and will just walk to the connecting terminal. Hoping someone who has done this can tell us if 90 mins would be enough time. Airline is Delta but Air France is a partner for these flights. Thanks.

Got personal message from Brian in FL. He said 90 mins is plenty if the plane from Nice is on time. Took him 30 minutes to change planes. Hope this info help others in similar situation. Happy 4th to All! We are the luckiest people on earth to live in USA...

This could help if he was on the exact same flights, but his experience is only his.
CDG is huge. Our flight on Delta was from a remodeled terminal that is so big that there is a tram to take you to the different areas within the terminal, each with its own security. Each of these areas is the size of most terminals. You'll go through passport and security, even though you went through security in Nice. We flew Delta two weeks ago, so I remember it well. You might make it, or you might not. If not, Delta will rebook you.

My own experience changing at CDG: Nice/CDG-CDG/Dublin, all on Air France and barely made it when I had an hour to change, both internal EU flights. I didn't have to go through passport control, only security.

I've also seen the passport line backed up during lunch hour. It could be easy as pie, but I'm cautious telling anyone it's a piece of cake.

Thank you Bets again, as you have responded to my other questions. We missed our connecting flight from LAX to Newark to Berlin in May (one hour layover). Had to rebook through London and arrived 4 hrs later in Berlin than our original arrival time.
Learning from that experience - we now pay more attention to layover times for connection flights. My husband is a hopeless optimist. He is an engineer, so in his world every thing is precision and efficiency - like clockwork. LOL

If you were going the other direction and had one connecting ticket, I would not be worried because there would be several Paris-Nice departures. Going home, the same airline might not operate or code-share any other departures to LA (check it out).

I have been in the CDG passport control line, arriving from Seattle, when it took 45 minutes. You wouldn't normally expect to be in that line after starting in Nice, but I have also had airport staff give me directions on connecting terminals by taking the around-the-airport bus/navette, which is very slow and takes you outside of the security area (so try to avoid).
