From CDG: taxi or Uber?

I usually take the train or bus but after flying from California, it's really exhausting. Is it possible to get Uber? Is it confusing to do so? Is it even any cheaper?

This has been a topic on the forum many times. Definitely take a taxi. You follow the signs at CDG to the official Paris taxi line. Don't let anyone sway or distract to follow them instead. The line moves very quickly. It is a fixed price based on right or left bank. Official taxi's can use bus lanes so you move quickly through the city.

Now, once you are in the city (but not leaving CDG) if you need a taxi, download the G7 Paris taxi app. It's similar to the uber app; except you have reliable, professional Paris taxi's at the ready.

Just did all of this in April including flying in from CA. We also used to use the train. And now we feel our age after the long flight. That taxi was deluxe. Right to the front door of our hotel. All so easy and smooth!

CDG has even put taxi foot print decals on the floor when departing baggage claim. Of course there are plenty of signs hanging from the ceiling as well.

Safe Travels.

If you are looking for a simple solution, official taxi is your answer. The taxi queues are but steps from the customs exits. If there is a line, it moves very fast. Only Taxis Parisiens have access to bus lanes and special streets in town. Taxis are the fastest direct way to your accommodations and the fares are fixed at 56€/65€ to the Right/Left Bank respectively. Drivers are not tipped. Offer your driver you written destination to preclude any confusion.

Please don't click on hopyou above.

As seasoned Paris travelers have mentioned above, taking a taxi from CDG into town is way less hassle than trying to connect with an Uber.

1) the taxi is a fixed rate. You know you will pay 56€ or 65€ depending on whether you are going to Right Bank or Left Bank.

2) the taxi line is much easier to find once you have exited Customs.
