Who can help me to plan this trip
My husband and I are planing to arrive in Barcelona and drive up to Sarlat la Canade.
on the way we know we want to stay in carcassonne,
we know we don't want to go in the big cities.
and in Spain we want to stay in La seu D'urgell, maybe some where in Andorra?
but how many nights and where?

and if you have recommendations of hotels 4,5 stars and restaurants ,
Thank you in advance to everybody who can help us to plan this trip

Perhaps start with a few days in La Seu d'Urgell, go hiking in the mountains, and check out Andorra.
Then cut across to the coast visiting Vic and Besalu.
L'Escala / Sant Martí d'Empúries would be a good beach stop as you have easy access to Girona, Figueres, Cadaques and Port Lligat. The Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries are worth a look. I also like the beach at Llafranc and Port de la Selva.
Head into France and detour to Carcassonne.
Then a few days in Montpellier, exploring locally if you have the time.
Via the stunning Millau Viaduct to get you to Sarlat.

You are going to great places, each deserves a few days each. If you are in Sarlat, go down to the Dordogne river to Roc Gagnac then over (another day) to the Cro Magnon cave paintings at Les Eyzies. (research accessibility and reservations first) But don't believe the ugly cave man statue in front of the museum; we were just as good looking then as now!

If you're not visiting Andorra, when going to France consider visiting Rick's back door village of Cucugnan - a charming ville in the land of the Cathars with a windmill that grinds the flour for the bakery in its base. The Auberge des Vignerons is a nice, small hotel; if you stay, sample the cassoulet in the restaurant. Another nice off the beaten path place I'd recommend is to visit some of the bastide towns west of Albi. Puycelci is a gem and the restaurant attached to the hotel Auberge Ancienne serves creative meals from the terroir.
