Looking for some advice on this possible itinerary for the French Riviera. Two girls traveling from August 30th-September 7th 2016, relying solely on public transportation. We want to see a little bit of everything, while having some time to beach and experience the nightlife. Let me know what you think! Also, any idea if the area will still be busy at this time of the year?
Day one - August 31st: arrive at Nice airport at 8:30 am. Explore Nice, Old Nice.
September 1st: day trip from Nice to Monaco, Eze, St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche sur Mer. Return to home base in Nice.
September 2nd: day trip to Cannes, explore the town in the morning, catamaran excursion at 2 pm, then beach. Either dinner in Cannes or return to Nice for dinner.
September 3rd: Saint Tropez (either by ferry or train to St. Raphaël & local bus), explore, stay one night.
September 4th: Beach day in Saint Tropez, go back to Nice in the evening.
September 5th: Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and possibly St. Paul de Vence.
September 6th: Last full day in Nice (or close surrounding areas) to see anything we missed, and beach.
September 7th: Travel home.
If you have any advice or recommendations for any part of this itinerary, I'd love to hear it! Still deciding between places to stay (ex: Nice vs. anywhere else as home base). Also, please let me know if you have any hotel, restaurant, bar recommendations anywhere along the way.
Thanks in advance!
