French Riviera Question

Hubby and I are headed to Nice next April. We are using Nice as a home base

Here is my question. I saw the most beautiful Airbnb in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. We were going to rent a car for the day to do Ricks Inland Riviera drive anyway so I wondered if we should just spend the last 3 nights of our trip in that area. Here we could drive to Grasse, Venice, etc.
We would drive from SPV to Nice airport the day we depart which is at 11:00 am.

Would this be a good idea? Is there something I don’t know that would make this a bad idea?

Welcoming input. Thank you.

Sounds wonderful. Just be sure to allow extra time driving to the airport because it will be rush hour. April is a good time to be in Saint Paul de Venice. BTW, your logical changed Vence to Venice, as mine tried to do, too.

Not that it's necessarily a "bad" idea, but it means you'll be driving more your last 3 days on narrow, winding roads. That said, there are some lovely perched villages in that general area just beyond Vence: Tourrettes-sur-Loup, Gourdon, and Le Bar-sur-Loup. Biot and Mougins are closer and also both lovely (though my hubby thinks they all start to look the same...). There is a nice path from SPV to the Fondation Maeght museum that has THE best views of SPV. It's not marked, and looks like a gravel driveway that hits the main road right at the bus stop. You can ask a shopkeeper if you can't find it. Enjoy your visit!
