French Riviera and Provence

Arriving Nice airport from Naples last week of April. We only have 2 nights in Eze and 3 nights in St. Remy. NOT much time but this is the end of our trip to the Amalfi Coast. We finish with 2 nights in Lyon.

Any recs regarding changing to 3 nights in Eze to see the Riviera and 2 in St Remy to do some of Provence? I know its a preference but have not been to either so trying to get as much in as possible but not be rushed.

We will have a vehicle.

Many thanks.

St-Remy is a much more worthwhile destination than Eze which is good for a few hours. If you want to see the French Riviera, stay in Nice.

Eze (le village, up high) is beautiful but it is very tiny and unless you have a car or taxi, the transport links are not good to see other places. To day trip to other places (including Eze), I'd pick Nice or if you want something smaller, Villefranche sur Mer or Beaulieu-sur-Mer. .

We prefer a smaller town. So villefranche or beaulieu? Any lodging recommendations at either.

In Villefranche sur Mer I would recommend Hotel Welcome. Ask for a room with a balcony and a sea view. It is in a lovely area by the waterfront near restaurants and shops. You can use the bus or train to visit other Riviera towns.

In Beaulieu sur Mer I would recommend Hotel Royal Riviera which has a small beach area and an infinity pool. Behind the hotel is Promenade Maurice Rouvier which leads to the shops below St Jean Cap Ferrat.
