Hello, traveling to Europe this summer with my family of 4 for 10+days. Kids are 3 and 5. I definitely want to stay in Nice and/or Antibes for half the time, and would love to loop in another country while there. I’ve been considering Spain (Barcelona->costa brava->Nice), or Italy (Florence, Genoa?). Any itinerary suggestions and plus for trains vs drive/planes.
Monaco is a direct 20m train ride from Nice. There are nonstop flights between Nice and Barcelona but a train will take 9h 30m. I don’t see train routes or flights between Nice and Genoa/Florence.
It takes 4 hours to Genoa by train with a connection from Nice.
You can easily get to train to Genoa from Nice in as low as 3 h 10min. Availability may mprove this year with some line improvements, Last summer, they added special tourist (treni touristica) routes to Turin and Milan from Nice (and from Ventimiglia) and we will see if they return
