French Riviera after touring Amalfi Coast

I think we may be trying to do the impossible here but we hope to go to the French Riviera after touring Amalfi Coast (Positano/Sorrento/Capri). Guessing best travel route is nonstop flight from Naples to Nice. We have 5 nights in Italy.

From there I am stuck....Thinking of having Antibes as home base and seeing some areas from there. Then travel back to US either from Lyon or Paris??? We hope to have 4 or 5 nights in France.

We will two couples in our 60s traveling during April or May.

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

From the Nice airport you can walk to the Aéroport Promenade (20 minutes) and get on bus 12 to St Laurent du Var and transfer to Antibes (30 minutes).
Good day trips from Antibes by direct train include Nice (15 minutes), Villefranche sur Mer (45 minutes), Monaco (1h) and Cap Ferrat (1h). Instead of flying home from Lyon or Paris why not fly home from Nice?

after doing a bit more research I am considering renting car in Nice and staying in St. Remy and doing day trips. We may skip Paris and fly out of Marseilles instead.

St Rémy is a great base, and it would be even better if you were able to fly from Naples to Marseille. I think Ryanair does it, but it might not be daily.
If not, the drive from Nice is quite easy, it takes about 3 hours.

A better reason to pick Nice is to visit Cap Ferat, St-Paul de Vence, Vence and Antibes. Monaco is good for maybe half a day. See it one time, no need to return. We went to Villefranche on a day when none of the cruise ships were moored it it’s harbor.
We flew home, Nice to CDG to US.
