French Liber-t Pass for Toll roads

Is it possible to acquire a Liber-T pass before traveling from the US to France? If not, where can I buy one in France?
Thanks

We bought ours at the first toll plaza we encountered. Just pull into the parking lot and go into the office. They are also for sale at large rest stops. Here's the website. I don't see an English translation, unfortunately.

I've never heard of the pass. Can you please explain what it covers?

Andrea--we've had ours for years and just take it with us, along with our European GPS, every trip over. It works on all autoroutes in France. Nigel has one, also. You use the toll lines marked T. Tolls show up on our Amex.

Yup, gonna use it on Sunday.

My tolls just go out of my bank once a month, only in months that I use it.

Just have to slow down to 30 kph - don't stop - in the special lanes, hear the beep, gate flies up, keep driving. It's the best.

Got it. It works like my FasTrak to zip through the toll bridges in the Bay Area. I'll have to remember to get one the next time we go to France. Thanks for the info.

So it works on whatever car you're driving ? I ask because FasTrak has to be set up for specific license numbers. Sounds wonderful -- no digging for small bills or hoping we have a card that will work in this toll station.

Yes, any car. It seems Nigel's wife and I have the same task of holding the little emitter box up to the black dotted part of the windshield for the signal to be captured. It's also advised to keep the emitter with you when you get out of the car. However, they have little plastic holders to attach to the windshield to hold the device for when one is driving.

To answer where I got mine - I am a frequent traveler on the Eurotunnel, the car shuttle train between Calais and Folkestone (UK) for my driving holidays in Europe. As a frequent traveler I am offered the use of a transponder. I pay an small annual fee, and a small charge for each month of actual use, and the actual toll amounts.

For me the charges are worth it. I've had the transponder for several years. We do follow the advice to remove it from the car when not in use.
