French food Options in Paris and Provence region

Planning a trip to Paris and then the Provence region in late May. My husband and I are not big fans of French food (other than baguettes, dessert and wine). Are there any options for lunch and dinner other than French cuisine?

You're in for a treat if you'll be in Nice, some great Italian restaurants. Try Lu Fran Calin in the Old Town. Best lasagna I've ever had. https://lu-francalin.fr/

Paris is a big city. Yes, there are options other than French cuisine. Pick a type of cuisine and odds are there are a couple of restaurants offering it. Just to name a few, there are Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, American, etc. places.

In Provence pizza or North African or Mediterranean are all popular. Let us know more precisely where in Provence if you would like more specific recommendations.

We love French food, but owing to some of my partner's dietary restrictions, we ate sushi every other night while we were in Paris. It was excellent, and we're picky about sushi!

OP, is there something in particular you don't like about French food, like heavy sauces and such? There are plenty of simple bistros with roast chicken, simple fish filets, etc. that seem to cater to everyone. (Not a big fan of heavily sauced food night after night myself).

There’s plenty of options. The French appreciation for cuisine is not limited to their own. You’ll find a variety of styles/cuisines to fit your taste. Any Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at in France has been very good. In Paris specifically, the famous L’As du Falafel is famous for a reason, I make a point to stop there.

I’ll note also that French salads are often stealthily the best thing on the menu, and are perfect for lunch. My mom and I still swoon over the salad nicoise we had in Paris.

It would be interesting to know what you don't like about French food since it will apparently be your first trip to France.

Or am I missing something? :))

Pat, there are so many ethnic options that are fabulous in Paris. Try Moroccan, Lebanese, Vietnamese or Israeli. After a few days of French food, we always try a different cuisine.

In Paris, we feast on Middle Eastern and vegan Thai food. For a laugh, this past November we tried Dominos pizza. You wouldn't believe how good French Dominos is!

My teen kids wanted take out pizza one night and we saw a sign for pizza a emporter which turned out to be a vending machine/oven. They claim it was great pizza and my husband and I got to go out for a dinner date.
