French COVID Certificates Unexpectedly Appear by Email This Morning

I repost this because my original posting of minutes ago seems to have disappeared:

Dear All,

I was surprised to receive two COVID certificates/QR codes this morning (November 17) by email for my travel party.

The applications for these COVID certificates/QR codes had been submitting about a month prior to the shut down of the French COVID card portal.

So if you also submitted applications prior to the portal's shutdown, there is hope that you, too, will still receive your certificates with QR codes.

December 19 to December 27.

I applied for the certificates/QR codes (the ones I received today by email) in mid-September. Those were for two of my family members.

I had earlier applied for my own certificate/QR code around September 1, and I received it in mid-September (after about a 15-day wait) before the portal closed.

This is so interesting. (And a bit bizarre, I don’t understand what the heck they are doing.) thank you for sharing, Shane.

@Kim I don't understand it, either. While I'm happy about receiving the COVID certificates/QR codes this morning, it would have been preferable for the French government to state on the closed portal site, for those of us who submitted applications before the site's closing, "We will still process submissions sent in before the shut down." Because I've spent a lot of time contacting, or trying to contact, French pharmacies and labs to confirm they are indeed enrolled in the program, and will be open on the Saturday I arrive in Paris, so that I can minimize the amount of time spent getting these COVID certificates/QR codes when I would prefer to be sightseeing.

Another odd thing is, I submitted three applications per the Internet portal, one after another, on the same day, all in just a few minutes of one another. And yet I only received two COVID certificates/QR codes this morning. Where is the third? I hope it's forthcoming. I'll let you all know if I get it. Otherwise, I still have a trip to the pharmacy to make in Paris.

I got my 2nd one in my email this morning - it was the first one I had applied for. Franchement, shame on me for blocking up the system. Had I not submitted my 2nd one, I would have got this one the day OF my flight to Paris. That is too close for comfort.

But I am thrilled! Paris, on se reverra demain!

For the first one (that I received today), October 16.
For the 2nd one (that I got 2 weeks ago), the day before they stopped taking new applications

Ok good to know. I also applied on the 16th. I think I have asked this same question to 20 different people on these forums lol.. I would just prefer I had it going in instead of having to go to a pharmacy even though from what I understand that is not a difficult process.

I received mine this morning. I applied back in late September and my trip is not until early January. Seems like they are working through the ones they received before the site shut down.

I got my pass today finally. My entire group of 3 applied on 10/16 and we all got it at the same time today. Make sure you check your junk folder. Good to see they are processing these old applications. I was worried I was going to get black balled since I sent so many messages to that email address in France lol..

I finally got my last COVID certificates/QR code by email today!

So now I have all four for which I applied back in September: one I got very early, in mid-September, before the program was shut down, because I submitted it around the first of that month. The others I submitted in mid-September and received the certificates/codes for them this week: two of them together in one batch earlier this week, and the last one by itself this morning.

I can only assume the French government closed the Internet method of applying for the certificates/codes because it was inundated with more than it could handle. (Seems like I even read that on a tourism site.) But from a tourist's perspective the website method seemed to work well.

@djh32781 Ha! I thought the same thing about myself! I even contacted the two French consulates in my part of the U.S. to ask if applications submitted prior to the website's shut down would still be processed (and was told no, you have to go to a pharmacy in France).

@Dkl19 I am in Louisiana, too. This is my first trip to my ancestor's "motherland". And a chance to try out my "hopelessly intermediate" French-speaking skills. (I did not grow up in a francophone household in Louisiana, tho' my paternal grandparents sometimes spoke French in my presence.)

Shane I was told the same thing by French government contact that they wouldn’t be processing applications. Glad it worked out.

I just received my Passe Sanitaire as well! So it's true, they are still working through the backlog. Yay French government!

Glad others are getting theirs as well.

And I just received mine for travel Dec 3, application Oct 17. My travel companions didn’t get their applications in so we’ll still have to make the pharmacy stop. But I am happy to have mine!

Travelmom.. make sure they check their junk folders. That is where my entire groups went. Also I would be surprised if your group doesn't all get them in the days leading up to your trip. They seem to be getting thru that backlog pretty good. We applied on October 16th and got them this past Friday.

I just got a my French Health Pass in my email today 11/22. The acceptance showed up in my email with a link to the French portal to print my QR Scan. I applied October 22, 2021. I travel the first week of this December. Other people in my travel party stopped applying because we heard around Oct 31st that the French portal would no longer be processing Health Passes for Americans.

We were planning to go to the French pharmacy when we land as the US embassy and other French government information has directed.

Does any one know if it is still worth applying to the French portal/website? Has anyone applied after October 31st/November 2021? I have 2 people in my party who still need passes.

@Darlene I don't think it's possible to apply through the portal anymore. It seems only the applications submitted before the site's shutdown are now being processed. But the site can help you find a pharmacist in France participating in the program.

The portal doesn’t exist any more. You get a big red banner if you follow the links that used to lead to it.

I applied October 16th for my husband and myself for a Christmas trip. I received two emails this morning, one with my QR code and the other asking a question about my husbands vaccine card. Obviously two different people looked at our applications as they were practically identical. I hope that his QR code comes soon. This will be nice if we can get both of them before we travel so we don't have to make time to deal with it while in Paris.
