I'm traveling to Paris in June with my husband and two kids (10 & 8). We want to do a French baking/cooking class but there are way too many options, it's overwhelming. Not sure which ones are tourist traps versus which ones are authentic and worth the cost. My son wants to be a chef when he grows up and really wants to do this. Any recommendations are appreciated!
With any company, you will need to check that children are permitted in the specific class that you register for.
I’ve taken about half a dozen classes with Cook’n with Class and all have been excellent. They offer some classes geared towards families that allow children.

I’ve also taken one class with La Cuisine and I also enjoyed the class. Their FAQs state that they have a minimum age of 13 for all public classes and tours but you could try to arrange a private class for your family.

We took the macaron class with Chef Leo at Studio Pâtisserie and loved it. Chef Leo is a delight, thoroughly explaining every ingredient and every step in the process. Everyone leaves with their own batch of macarons as well as written summary of the class.
Here's what they say about children: "The minimum age requirement is 16 years for croissant classes and 13 years for other classes. Participants aged 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult also registered for the class. We are happy to welcome children under the age of 13 in our private classes."
I don't know if that will work for you, but I wanted to give you an option that is clearly not just a tourist trap.
Here's a class for families at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann that I stumbled on in my own research. Children's rate for 5 to 12 year olds.
I am thinking of doing that macaron class with my 8 year old grandson who loves to cook -- has anyone done this with kids and what did you think?
