Free walking tour of Montmartre?

We signed up for a free tour of Montmartre through https://www.discoverwalks.com

There are a lot of options for free walking tours. Just wondering if anyone has info on this particular company, or any others that are preferred.

Merci,
Rachel

I don't know about that organization. Often for walking tours, they really do expect a tip and that is how the tour guide earns a living. But, again, I don't know specifically about that company. For Montmarte, I took a tour through Paris Walks and liked it very much. There is also an organization called Paris Greeters. They actually do, do tours for free. Volunteers do the tour. I heard it is nice to make a little donation to the organization for overhead.

I don't have information on a free walking tour of Montmarte, but I can highly recommend www.sightseekersdelight.com in Paris. We took the amazing "Time Travel to Monmarte." We felt like we were transported back in time walking the cobblestone streets enjoying the artistic history of famous artists. Well worth the fee and knowledge of the guide. We were fortunate that we had a small group of four. Almost like a private tour. We took two tours with Sightseekers. We have taken both free tours and paid walking tours in Europe. Sightseekers were at the top of the list of favorites!

Thank you, Janis and Jules. I checked out Site Seekers and the timing doesn't work for us.
I was intending (and had heard) that we are expected to tip the "free" tours, which is fine with me.
Paris Greeters and Paris Walks both look good and I am looking at both.

Thank you both again,
Rachel

Here’s vote for Walk Paris. We took their walking tours of Marais and Montmartre. Both good, Montmartre fantastic. Very reasonable as I recall.

We were in Paris at the end of May, and did the 11am Montmartre tour w/ Discover Walks. It was lovely, the tour guide was excellent. I recommend it.

Rick's books often have really good walking tours, if you want to DIY.

Thank you all. Paris Greeters did not have availability at the time we needed, nor did Sight Seekers - so we signed up for Montmartre and St Germain with Discover Walks. Might also do an RS DIY - will see how it goes - and report back.

Thanks again,
Rachel
