** no longer available ** FREE da Vinci tickets for December 6

EDIT -- tickets have been forwarded to the first respondent. Good luck to those visiting beautiful Paris in December

We gave up on Paris this December because of the projected rail-and-other strike (arriving CDG on the first strike day 12/5.) So we have two exhibit tickets for 11 a.m. December 6 -- they are assigned to our specific names, but if you would like to try your luck at having the entrance staff just scan the tickets and not ask for ID, I would be happy to email them and you could print them out.
FYI, another RS forum member gave us Eiffel Tower tickets last year (thanks again, herbster !) and we were not asked for ID to match the names on the tickets.
Send me a PM if you will be in Paris on December 6 and want to chance it. Note that the museum workers may be on strike also ...

I visited the Da Vinci exhibit last Friday, 11/15, at 4 PM. Tickets were simply scanned due to the large crowd. We took ID but were not asked to show it. It took us about 30 minutes to get through the line so arrive before the designated time.

OH gosh, Laura, what a nice thing! Sorry your trip to Paris is off.

BTW, I'd agree that they do not ask for ID at the daVinci entrance. Just a ticket scan. The day I was there the guy just pointed at the scanner and didn't even look at my ticket.

Hi ! Quick question for those of you who were able to get da Vinvi tickets --- does the ticket calendar on the Louvre site update periodically? I am looking for tickets Dec 29 or 30 but they appear to be all sold out. Was curious if there was another way to snag them ... thank you!!

Laura,

So sorry you have to rearrange your trip on account of the planned strikes (a very smart move in your part). Offering up your DaVinci tickets is just a wonderful act of kindness during this situation. Wonderful, just wonderful!

I agree, Laura, it's awfully nice of you to offer your tickets. I am sorry that your trip won't work out now (I think you are making the right decision) and hope someone can take you up on your offer.

I'd love to see it. I'm practically ready to book a flight just to see the exhibit. I'm really hoping they continue the exhibit longer than planned (but they probably won't).

Didnt another thread say on certain strike days certain miseums may have to close in which case you are elegable for a refund? Or have i got my wires crossed?

Yes, Caro -- if the Louvre is closed on that day, they will probably only refund the tickets to the original purchaser. Keeping an eye on that.
