I'm traveling in France the second half of April on the RS tour Loire to Nice, and months ago when I checked the weather it showed the average daytime temperature at that time to be upper 50s. Recently I've been checking the locations I'll be traveling and they're already hitting the low 70s! Should I plan on it being summer temperatures, or is that a fluke and it will probably be in the 50s? Hard to know what to pack!
No one will be able to tell you what the weather will be like in a month! Especially since you don't say where in France.
Myself, I don't know how to dress for next week..
Look at the average temperatures of previous years and pray.
Today the high in Paris is 43, tomorrow 53. Yes, the 70 was a fluke. But it could get fluky again in two weeks, the second half of April. So wear layers. I just came in from a hike near the Mediterranean. It's 62 today in the south of France and very windy, so long-sleeve blouse, thin wool sweater with a hood, windbreaker and medium-weight pants. The hoods kept my fancy baseball cap on my head in the wind. A cheap cotton scarf that you can find for 5-10 euros at the market to goes around the neck.
With these layers, you can go from 50-70 or higher, just removing the layers or adding a long-sleeve t-shirt if the temperature goes down to 40. Don't forget a raincoat. BTW, that's a beautiful time of year for that itinerary.
It was 70 degrees in Chicago two weeks ago yesterday it snowed.
It's back in the low 40s today in Paris. As i walked to and from the grocery store, i realized i really hadn't put on warm enough clothes. I was glad to get back inside. It's supposed to be rainy and miserable all week.
We had one good week of weather — last week. Otherwise it's been gray and rainy for months.
I’m going the first week in April and obviously all I can say is the temperatures I’m seeing are not as warm as the original poster is. I’ve kind of revamped the wardrobe to make it a little warmer since the high of 60 means a lot of the time you’re out it’s in the 40s and 50s.
Weather report:
Here, yesterday it was rather hot (75F), too hot in the sun for me to finish mowing the lawn (in my defense, it's a very large field and I was too lazy to go get a hat). I finished mowing today, it was about 70F.
All fruit trees begin to bloom.
I see the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees mountains on the horizon, which means that it will rain in 2 or 3 days.
The temperature is not expected to exceed 65F next week.
Here is Denver it can be in the 70's one day and a blizzard the next! And it can change a lot during a day. I change clothes at least 2x each day. LOL
