France trip September 1 2025

Good morning, My wife & I are going to be traveling to Paris September 1 2025. It's our 30th anniversary.
Direct from Boston to CDG via Delta. We will be staying at the Pullman Hotel for 3 days & 3 nights. We are going to tour the Eiffel tower with a guide & cruise the Siene river as well. I have yet to make any dinner reservations or plans for additional sites to visit. Any suggestions would be welcome.
We are taking the high speed train form Paris to Nice Saturday am. We will be staying at the Hotel West End until Sept 12th . We would like to take a few day trips along the southern coast. Really looking for help here on what would be the most enjoyable day trips.
We fly home from Nice Sept. 13th British Air. 1 short stop at Heathrow then home to Boston.
Thank you

Keep in mind that you need to apply for a UK ETA if you plan to fly home via Heathrow.

When I'm planning my trips, 3 nights = 2 full days of touring. I expect you are counting your arrival day as your 3rd "day". Depending on how tired you are and what time your plane arrives you may or may not feel like doing a lot that day. For myself, I use the Timeshifter app for jet lag but I'm flying from the Inland Northwest so have more time zones to take into account.

What day/time are you planning to do the Eiffel Tower? Asking because that would determine what else you could possibly do on that day.

Are you interested in a museum visit or a church visit? Gardens? Tell us more about what interests you and you'll get some tailored suggestions. You don't need to book the Seine River Cruise ahead. There are a number of companies that offer cruises so you can just work that in when convenient. There is one line that leaves from near the Eiffel Tower which might be convenient for you.

Grab a Rick Steves guide to Paris. Read it and refine your expectations and then ask the crowd here for advice. You basically are taking about two full days fresh off an overnight flight from the states and you should understand your activities will be limited at best. But….you have plenty of time to do more research and then have this crowd advice you on an endless selection of ideas.

There are several enjoyable day trips from Nice. Regional trains and buses take you to most places.

We enjoyed Villefranche sur Mer, a charming town with a lovely waterfront and a shale beach.

In Monaco we saw the Royal palace and Oceanography Museum on a combo ticket. We also saw the Cathedral and had lunch at Cafe de Paris in the square by the casino.

Eze is a hilltop town with great views. St Jean Cap Ferrat and the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild are worth a visit also.

Antibes and Cannes are other options.

The Cote d’Azur is a spectacular area with the sea views and mountains in the background. Wishing you a great trip!

It really depends on what you're interested in. I spent a day at a major antique fair in Paris in September, and just came home from four days of art museums and night rambles in and around the Tuileries. I spent a couple days in October at the Aviation museum and Chateau Thierry. There's way too much to see and do for just three days, so you'll have to make some priorities. Knowing you have a tour and a cruise goes a long way into filling your available time.
