I see there is SNCF sales starting on Wednesday. I need to book the following —
-Nice to Avignon, May 26. From Nice Centre to Avignon centre, must I book 2 separate tickets as the first portion goes to the TGV station on the outskirts and then into the centre of Avignon?
-Avignon to Lyon, May 28….again, 2 separate tickets via the TGV station or taxi into TGV ?
- Lyon to Paris CDG airport June 11. Too early to book? I believe the train goes to terminal 2, we are staying at the Citizen M hotel. Walkable to hotel?
Can all these be booked on the SNFC train sight?
Thank you for any advice and information.
You should be able to book the entire trip as one transaction on the SNCF website or app. For example, for Nice to Avignon centre, if you select Nice as your departure, Avignon center as your destination, then add Avignon TGV where it says "via," you will get a route with the connection at Avignon TGV on one ticket. You might be able to find it without the "via" but I think you might have to check details on every train listed to find it. For some times on some routes, the non-TGV takes about the same amount of time with the difference being that with the TGV you spend time on connections whereas on the non-TGV you spend more time on the train.
There is no way to get to the Terminal 2 to your hotel by foot. You will need to take the CDGVAL shuttle. It's free.
