We are in the planning stages for a trip to France next April/May. We are thinking 21 days or so.
Would appreciate any thoughts/recommendations on our tentative itinerary. Are we trying to do too much?
1) Arrive and stay in Paris for 4-5 nights. We are not big art lovers.
2) Take train out to Nomandy, perhaps Caen, rent a car and stay in Bayeux as our base. 4-5 days.
3) Drive through France, staying in perhaps 3 towns/villages for 2 nights each. Thinking Loire Valley, then Dordogne areas.
4)Drive to French Riviera, stay perhaps in Arles or Villefranche-sur-Mar for 5 days. We prefer smaller towns versus larger more congested cities, like Nice. Nice good for a day trip, but not a home base.
5) Take train to Paris for return home.
Appreciate any guidance you may have.
Thank you
