I was trying to book Lyon-Milan train itinerary yesterday for early October and was unsuccessful due to major landslide which occurred @ August 28th. Everything seems to be rerouted through Switzerland or Nice. News reports say extensive damage done and possibly a two month repair window.
Booked trip via Nice. More expensive and longer trip. Just a heads up to everyone.
