France entry - customs/immigration

Looking for clarification on where we expect to hit immigration upon arriving in France?

Flying from US into ORY in July on La Compagnie airlines
From ORY we are then flying on Air France to Marseille

For whatever reason I cannot figure where we are going through immigration/passport control.
We are arriving in July on a Sunday, late morning. Any idea on what to expect in terms of timing?

You'll go through immigration when you arrive in Paris. Lines/delays can vary greatly by time of day, time of year, random events.

Orly is fairly easy to get through as it is much smaller than CDG. The immigration line usually moves fairly quickly there.

And Customs, which is just a walk through, will be in Marseille. Since the State of Emergency was ended last Fall, I assume there will be no passport control in Marseille, although I don't know if that's affected by the recent approval for France to continue intra-Schengen border controls.

Customs is for goods, not people. It is the check on the contents of your luggage. As Robert says, this nominally takes place at Marseille after you pick up your bags, but 95%+ of people are not stopped, random checks only.

Immigration (passport control) is for people and happens when you enter the Schengen Area at Paris Orly.

The intra-Schengen border checks due to the State of Emergency have always been "targetted". Translation: I've never seen one.

Does La Compagnie interline baggage?

You go through Passport Control, not Customs, unless you have something to declare.
I'd expect to be out of there on a Sunday, in a nanosecond.

Great! Thanks for the info.

Nigel, no clue on the luggage w/ La Compagnie. We mostly fly with carry ons (even for 3-4 week trips).
