France- Alsace area

We are trying to decide between going in early Sept. or mid to late Oct. to the Alsace area of France. We have a family wedding on Oct. 9th & have to plan around it. We will also spend some time in Paris. Is there a big difference in weather?

It is not a big difference in weather. But of course it can rain in Paris while not necessarily in Alsace. Paris is little closer to the ocean.

September is the nicest month in Paris; it is also the most busy for hotels and such, so if you plan on that get your plans together asap. October is generally fairly nice in Paris but more risky. I would plan to travel in Alsace in September in order to have the best shot at optimal weather. In this area you are going to want to be outside in the small wine towns, cruising down the Rhine just over the border in Germany etc -- you really want good weather, whereas Paris is a great rainy day town so it matters less.

I would come before. It's nicer in September than in late October.
