Flying Out of Paris CDG

I have American passport and flew into Italy in August , took train to Paris last week and am flying out of Paris CDG airport to IceLand. Is 3 hours early arrival at CDG for a 1:00pm flight overkill?

Iceland in the Schengen Area so there is no passport control. Hence, recommended time should be 2 hours, rather than 3. What does the airline say?
If going by taxi, I'd leave my hotel in Paris at 10 AM latest, allowing for some traffic buffer and airport buffer.

As long as you don’t run into the typical French protests, strikes, work stoppage, etc 2 hours is sufficient.

Thank you !
On arrival to Paris Gare de Lyon train station I waited 45 minutes in a que for a taxi. I am thinking I’ll stick with my 3 hour original thought .. just in case . I’d rather people watch at the airport than run for a plane .

Prebook your taxi out of Paris! Use the G7 app or website or phone (English available) for that. Fully reliable, and only costs seven euros for the booking.

Totally agree: "I’d rather people watch at the airport than run for a plane"!

Always better to err on the side of arriving early so you don't have to stress if something goes slower than anticipated.

Since you're flying "domestically" (still within Schengen) the guideline is two hours. CDG is big and takes a long time to get through. I'd say you will want that two hours (to ensure you're at your gate 30 minutes early) but probably won't need more than that.
