Flying into London

Should I consider Luton International? Is it too out of the way?

Is there any particular reason you want to fly? The fastest and most comfortable way between Paris and London is the Eurostar train. City center to city center in around 2hr20min. Booked ASAP (up to 120 days allowed) on eurostar.com, a ticket can cost as little as $68 US.

If you are travelling from Paris to London after staying in Paris, I would strongly suggest taking the Eurostar instead of flying. The extra time and expense of travelling into central London will outweigh any difference in the fare.

If you are flying into a Paris airport and immediately connecting to London, there's no problem with flying into Luton. The only irritating aspect is that it's the only London airport that doesn't have a railway station right at the airport - you need to take a shuttle bus to the nearest station. Trains will mostly run into the Thameslink tunnel across central London so depending on where you are staying you'll be getting off at St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink or Blackfriars. Alternatively there are National Express bus services direct from the airport to the West End. Expect to take about an hour or a bit over by either route.

Thank you Tim and Phillip! That sounds like truly good advice. As my latin teacher used to make me write on the black board, " a word to the wise is sufficient..." I'll take your suggestion. Cheers!
