We are flying into CDG soon and wanted to know this: Our hotel can send a car or taxi for us and go straight to the hotel for around 45 euros for both of us. Does that sound high in comparison to just getting a taxi by ourselves when we get there? (little nervous to take the metro right now) We need to go down by the Vavin metro stop to our hotel the Lenox Montparnasse. Thanks Tom

If you've got a lot of baggage and it's really 45 euros then it sounds like a good deal.
If you don't have a lot of baggage then take the AirFrance shuttle bus line #4:

Two Air France bus tickets cost 34 euro and drops you at Montparnasse, a short hike from the Vavin metro. If the taxi/car is a fixed rate of 45 euro, I'd take the hotel taxi. A taxi on your own would probably be higher.

I usually pay about $100+ or so to take a taxi into central Paris from CDG.

Are you sure it is 45 Euro for the two of you? That is about what a taxi would cost to Montmartre; to central Paris a taxi is more likely to be about 55 Euro. I have never paid more than 60 Euro for a taxi from the airport. If you do this report back on the experience. Usually hotels charge ridiculously high fees for cars and taxis are a better choice; if this is really 45 Euro and works smoothly, it is a bargain.

Thanks for all the responses. I have a confirmation from CDG to the hotel for 43 euros for both of us with Super shuttle. They are to meet us at the baggage claim holding a sign for us (hopefully). Will let all know the experience. Thanks again Tom

Shuttle may not go "straight to the hotel" if there are other passengers -- we took a shuttle to Orly arranged by our hotel and there were several stops in Paris before heading to the airport. Not a major problem for a decent price.

Being driven around, waiting at other terminals for passengers, ending up being the last drop etc etc makes shuttles no bargain. And paying ahead as I believe Super shuttle requires is risky; if they don't show, you won't see your money. That is no bargain for a shared shuttle. You can get a taxi for about 55 and it will take half as long. That is very expensive for a shared shuttle trip.
