Help! Any recommendations on a flea market in Paris that is open on mondays? I don’t need anything high end just something where we can shop around and bring back some authentic souvenirs and just look around. Thank you!
Saint Ouen flea market This is probably the largest and most famous. My daughter-in-law loves flea markets so we visited this market last September. It is absolutely huge covering an immense area of connected markets from upscale antiques to souvenirs guaranteed to be made in China. We found the best price on soccer jerseys there.
I am not a shopper. When traveling solo a flea market is the last place I would go. Good thing I wasn’t traveling solo because I actually found the experience very interesting. Easy to get to by public transport. Some cash only stalls and some would take cards.
I've wandered through a couple of the flea markets but never really found anything. The booksellers along the Seine though, they get some of my money almost every time. But if your interest is vintage clothing try the Rue de la Verrerie near the Hotel d'Ville and turn up Rue St Martin and you find half a dozen shops in those 2-3 blocks.
There was a thread about this last summer, you may want to do a search on the forum.
Even though technically open, the St. Ouen flea market is a shadow of its weekend self on Mondays. To the point that I'm not sure it's worthwhile to even go.
I have the most fabulous book-Markets of Paris- must list at least 100 markets but most seem to be closed on Monday.

There are no bargains at St. Ouen (which is as someone noted ONLY worth visiting on the weekend ). It can be fun to visit and be sure you get well into the center of the permanent alleyways -- it is surrounded by absolute trash -- you have to get into the permanent part of the market to see anything interesting. I have found some unique glassware but it is all expensive.
I have had a little better luck at the Vanves market but it is smaller and more like a large yard sale. I got a wonderful necklace there and they have a lot of the kind of prints -- birds, fruit, ancient scenes etc -- which you find for more in central shops.
The only real bargains I have found in flea shopping have been at the pop up Vide Grenier which are very close to yard sales -- lots of junk but the occasional find. I have a watch with an art deco design that I got 15 years ago -- still runs fine. I got last year 4 champagne flutes for 15 Euro. It cost me more for the plastic kitchen storage boxes I used to get them home in my luggage unbroken. We use champagne flutes a lot and have a collection of varied designs and these have been a great addition. But in those fleas there was literally not another thing I would have had any interest in. You can find Vide Grenier by paying attention to signs posted on poles much lie yard sales in the US. They occur all over the city.
