First time in Paris and travelling solo

I just need an advice for my 6 days tour in Paris which is 2 weeks from now. Should I purchase a Paris pass? I'm thinking of buying a 4 days pass but I'm confused of what is included there cz its not clearly stated on their website. Someone said that it only allows 2 days museum pass? What about the Versailes? Does it fall on the 2 days museum pass? My plan iterinary would be like these.

1st day: Arrival in Paris at 11am April 24
After my hotel check in
Planning to take the big bus tour for site seeing only and to familiarize within the city.
Planning to take the Ballon ride for sunset view
Go to Eiffel tower in the evening and Sienne river cruise

2nd day: April 25
Eiffel tower again for morning view
Opera garnier (does it include in the 2 days museum?)
Walk around champ elysee and arc de triomphe

3rd day: April 26
Go to Notredame and explore nearby site after the visit
Planning to go to catacomb on the mid day.
Go to Louvre around 5pm as they are open till 9pm on Wed and friday.

4th day April 27 (thursday)
Morning to SacreCoure and Montmatre
Visit Orsay at 5pm till closing time.

5th April 28 and April 29
Either to Visit Versailes or Disneyland
6th day April 30 (last day)
I will just have a half day in the city.

Hi spalvarez -
What's included in the Paris Pass is very clearly listed on the website:

https://www.parispass.com/paris-attractions/

As with any pass, it's all about the math: you have to add up the normal entry prices of the attractions you wish to see and compare it to what's covered under the price of pass.

The Paris Pass is available in 2, 3, 4 and 6-day amounts. The 3 Day pass only includes a 2 Day Museum Pass: that's noted on the ordering page:

https://www.parispass.com/paris-pass-prices.php

As passes are only good for consecutive days, you also need to plan your time so that if, say, you'll be in the city 6 days but only want to buy a 4-day pass, you have to squeeze the attractions the pass covers into 4 consecutive days and do what the pass doesn't cover during the remaining two.

Personally, I've always thought that this pass was vastly overpriced, and much of that is because of the travelcard piece. Looking at your itinerary, you don't have enough of the museums/attractions on your list to begin to come close to breaking even on the pass, and they're all spread out over 6 days, not 4. You also have a fair amount of attractions/activities on your list that are either free or are not covered by the pass.

We spent 6 days in Paris and the 6-day Paris MUSEUM PASS (74 euro versus 239 euro for the Paris Pass: http://en.parismuseumpass.com) was a good deal for us. It doesn't include the transport piece but we got around much, much less expensively with a shared carnet (packet) of 10 transport tickets for just 14.50 euro (central Paris zones only).

http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/r_61656/t-ticket/

We also visited the Louvre 3 separate times so just what that would have cost us separately (45 euro) was worth over half the price of the pass. Even adding the price of tickets for a number of attractions the pass didn't cover, we would have been way ahead of what the Paris Pass would have cost.

But again, it's all about the math, and the Museum Pass wouldn't be a good deal for you as you don't have enough of the attractions it covers on your list to break even. Make sense?

Do not buy a Paris Pass! It is a very poor value.

You are a perfect candidate for the Navigo Decouverte pass (all-zone) which will give unlimited travel on the RER, Metro, and buses in the region, costing 22.15 EUR plus a 5 EUR set-up fee. Bring a 25 mm by 30 mm (1" by 1 1/4") passport type photo with you. That will include rides to and from the airport, Versailles, and Disneyland. Since you are arriving on a Monday, and leaving on a Sunday it is perfect, because that is when the pass begins and ends. Buy it when you arrive at any RER or Metro ticket booth.

Then get a separate Museum Pass for as many consecutive days as you wish.

Some of the sites you want to see typically entail long waits, though this may be mitigated in April. Still you should have a strategy for beating crowds at the catacombs, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and, if you want to climb the tower, Notre Dame. You can buy advanced tickets to the catacombs and the Tower.

Both the museum pass and the Navigo Decovert are amazing values.

Spalvarez,

If I were you, and wanted to visit the sights on your itinerary, I'd buy the 4 day Paris Museum Pass.

I agree with the others and would also urge you NOT to buy the Paris Pass... Unless you don't mind paying the exorbitant price.

I wrote this post last summer and you may find it helpful: Paris Museum Pass vs Paris Pass

Please note.... The Paris Pass prices (I quoted on my post) have since increased, while the prices for the Paris Museum Pass have remained the same.

You may want to add the following to your itinerary.... Sainte Chapelle (beautiful church with amazing stained glass windows, near Notre Dame), Orangerie Museum (near the Orsay & Louvre Museums), and the Rodin Museum, among others included in the Paris Museum Pass.

If you enjoy gardens, don't miss out on visiting the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens!

Do consider buying the Navigo decouverte pass.... A great deal for all your travel needs while in Paris; you can take the Metro, the buses and the RER trains!

Enjoy Paris!

If you are flying into Paris on April 24 from the US, Canada or somewhere else in the Western Hemisphere, I would caution you about pre-paying for any activities scheduled on that day. Many/most of us are sleep-deprived and jetlagged after an overnight transatlantic flight. We try to spend our time outdoors (adjusting to the new time-zone, walking around (maybe taking a walking tour that doesn't require pre-booking). Staying awake enough to really appreciate pre-purchased activities on Day 1 would not work at all for me.
