Finding B&B near St-Malo, Mont St Michel (Northwest of France)

Hello, I have been researching accommodations for our upcoming trip to St Malo and Mont St. Michel in mid-April. However, I have hard time finding B&B (either castle or house) using several local websites. I have tried submit requests to 5 different owners, but none of them return my requests. I am trying to stay away from commercial sites like airbnb or booking.com, cause those are more expensive. Any advise how I can find a place to stay? I am thinking of staying 1 night near St-Malo, and 2 nights near Mont St. Michel.

This is my first trip to Europe so any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I stayed in a B&B in St Malo in Sept.and we really liked it and it is inside the walled part of town.The name of the B&B is Accroche Couer and the owners name is Nathalie.You can get the web site by entering the name and their phone # +33 299404363.

If you will be driving I can recommend a country B&B that is well located to both St Malo and Mont St Michel for day trips so you wouldn't have to move. I loved it there but it's only good for you if you like peace and quiet at night and don't need to be in the thick of things in town. If you're relying on public transportation it wouldn't work for you.
