Finding a local guide in Strasbourg

Hi, I'm planning to go to Strasbourg in September. I'd like to find a local guide for a 1 to 2-hour historical tour around the city. What's the best way to go about finding a reliable guide? I've seen websites with guides online, but I'm not sure if they are legitimate and/or safe. Does anyone have any experience and/or advice? Thanks!

We used toursbylocals.com just once, and had an excellent experience. I had many questions and contacted the company then communicated with the guide by email and when I felt assured we set it up. Good luck.

I would say that any guide is reliable. Go online and seek one for Strasbourg. Some guides may be better than others, or you may like their style better. But you never know that until it is all over. I know there are free guides in Strasbourg because we used one. No big deal. Search for free guided tours. Almost every major city in Europe has them. Usually you meet at appointed time and place and look for an umbrella. Riga, Rome, Paris, London, Munich, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Prague, Seville, Madrid - have been on free tours. No problems.

I recommend you look at the reviews of those who have already been there. Usually, people recommend guides after a successful vacation. I, for example, here on the website simply-france.com, read about the tours and chose the best for my family. However, we went to France, because we had been dreaming of visiting there for a long time. For example, the warm, sunny beaches here contrast with the snow-covered seaside Alps, located just 2 hours from the coast. This resort area is also very noisy, attracting millions of tourists. In small villages located at the cliffs, there is peace and tranquility.
