We are looking for an English speaking guide for our two days in Paris before we join our River cruise. Any suggestions?
Jean - Patricia, a parisien tour guide from Paris is fluent in English. Take a look at her credentials and see if she is what you are looking for.

Paris Greeters is also a great opportunity to have a local show you around the city.

Hi Jean,
We took two tours:www.sightseekersdelight.com They offer 15 different tours to chose from. We took the Montmarte and the Jewish tour of Le Marais. The guides are knowledgeable and engaging. We gladly recommend this company.
Of course having a guide is up to you but are you sure you'll need one for 2 full days?
Rick's Paris guide book has some good self guided walks and he also has some free audio tours as well. Here's the link:

I also enjoy the walking tours by Paris Walks at www.paris-walks.com No reservations needed, just show up and pay the guide your money.

Highly recommend Corey Frye's Paris walks. Below is link to one of his live walks, - his private walks are longer, but this give you an idea of what he likes to cover.

I also have had very nice walks with Paris Greeters.
Loved walking with our Paris Greeters volunteer -- they are locals who want to show off specific parts their city. No charge, but they ask for a donation to the organization.
Also recommend "Wander with Vero" guided walks of Paris, led by Vero, the "French Girl in Seattle" who has recently become a Rick Steves tour guide. I haven't taken one of her walks, but follow her blog and facebook page religiously and she is inspirational.
