Finding a Grocery Store in Normandy

Greetings fellow travelers,

We are renting a car in Paris and are driving to our lodging/flat in Monfreville (about 25 minutes from Bayeux). I'm looking for a quick place to stop along the way to pick up some groceries; coffee, snacks and fresh fruit/veggies. I would like to already be out of Paris, somewhere I can run and out and not too far out of the way. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I don't know of any specific branches, but you should see no shortage of Carrefour supermarkets on the outer edge of any decent sized town.

Look for hypermarches and supermarches. The are usually found on the outskirts of Towns. If they have gas pumps, their prices will be about the best you'll find, and during business hours most have an attendant so you don't need to worry about not having a chip and pin credit card.

As you go around the northern Caen bypass stay in the right lane. You'll pass a huge hospital on your right. Get off at the exit immediately on its western edge (I think it's the D7 but I don't know which town it points to), and make a right (headed north).

There's a huge Carrefour center on the left at the next intersection.

There is a large Super U on the D514 ( coast road ) in Port en Bessin at the intersection of Ave Charles De Gaulle .

Google Maps can help you find others if you search for "supermarches near Monfreville, FR."

Along the A13 there are several so called Aires, most with gas stations, restaurants and shops for snacks and coffee. About 5 km from Monfréville in Isigny-sur-Mer is an Intermarché (also a well-known supermarket chain in France), for groceries in case you want keep things fresh for the fridge in your lodging. From the supermarket it´s quiet easy to follow the route to Monfréville.
