Has anyone attended the Fêtes de Jeanne d'Arc in Orleans? I have been googling like mad to find the specific dates for 2018, but according to the tourist Bureau they are not posted yet. Apparently the dates for the 2017 festival were different than usual due to the election, so I can't guess this years activities based on last years. From what I can gather it is approx 10 days late April/Early May.
Specifically, I am wondering when the battle reenactments and parade typically fall during the festival? For example, are they always on the first weekend of May? Also, if you have attended, are there any other activities during the festival that you particularly enjoyed?
I can't give you any useful information, but I did attend on 1984! The parade was on May 8th, Joan of Arc's Saint day. I don't remember anything but the parade. According to the Orleans tourism (I searched "Orleans tourisme") the fete is April 29 until May 8. It doesn't give a schedule, just the dates.
I have found this, it's in French only so it needs translation: http://www.orleansjeannedarc.fr/1/programme_2018_1294842.html
Think you nailed it Wil.
Thank SO much, especially Wil! Your google skills must be better than mine! This definitely gives me a framework of how the festival will unfold this year.
Thanks, was just a bit lucky :) The festival looks really something nice to experience, so wish you a lot of fun there!
