Will be going to Paris first time ever september 28 till october 3. May be too early, but are there any kind of festivals going on or happening during my time there? Staying in an apartment near eiffel tower, and planning to walk walk walk as much as possible to different districts. Any suggestion are welcome, planning to take eurostar train from london, just to have a fun time. It's vacation and anything is possible and doable. Thanks

There are two magazines, Time Out Paris and Pariscope, that feature everything going on in the city. Pick them up as soon as you arrive or check out the on-line version of Time Out closer to September.

Paris is replete with on-line information sites. Try a search for something like tourism or official tourist information. There are several sites operated by the city and other official spokesmen with long-range activities calendars,. Commercial sellers of events tickets can help too; FNAC, a books and electronics chain, is the French equivalent of TicketMaster. And no, it is not too early. The fall in Paris can be just as busy as the summer and for big cultural events such as the opera you will benefit by planning now.
