February in Chamonix for non skiers

I’m considering a trip to Chamonix in February. I don’t ski. What else is there to do? How long should I stay? If going to Chamonix from Paris, is there a place to stop on the way (besides Alsace region, already been)

We are going to Chamonix in late December or New Years day on a day trip from Annecy ( it is reputed to be a beautiful town but I like that we will have the option to go to Switzerland from there) to go to the top of Mont Blanc the Aiguille du Midi, weather permitting.
You might get some ideas here:

Annecy beat out Alsace which I also considered but have been before.

Why are you considering Chamonix ?

If you don't ski you might consider trying a snow bike (skis instead of wheels). There's some shopping, good food, booze, and nightlife . You might also consider a spa day.

There is plenty to do, and the scenic cable cars and railways are open year-round.
Do mind that in February many places will require week-long stays. Have a look NOW on booking.com or similar to see the options for shorter stays - they are likely to be in the higher category range of hotels. If it's not satisfactory, you can try to call a few hotels and see if they would accept a shorter stay.

By the way, a poster above compared Annecy to Chamonix: in Feb I'd rather be in Chamonix, as Annecy is quite rainy (instead of snowy) and doesn't have the "winter sports" vibe and energy. For new year however, Annecy is a good pick as ski resorts are prohibitively expensive and full to the brim.

Just to note that lodging is probably very expensive there at that time.

My thought was the same as Kim. Lodging will be at a premium during ski season.
