Feathers at Mont St. Michel

I had the pleasure of exploring Mont St. Michel last month. In one big room, there were hundreds if not thousands of feathers hanging on filament from the ceiling. We were not able to ask their significance, does anyone know?

It's part of the summer exhibition "The secret resident of the abbey" (with sound and light during the night tour). There are different features in some rooms of the abbey. But no real connection with the history of Mont Saint Michel!
