I'm not sure I ever went to a Saturday market in Paris. My favorite market in Paris was the one at Bastille but that was on Sunday and Thursday.

At Place de la Nation on Saturdays there is a splendid market, huge, on Cours de Vincennes. Anything your little heart desires from cheese to kitchen knives. One year we even saw Mephistoe shoes. All the ladies of the arrondissement, with their little dogs in baskets, are there to do their weekend shopping. You want fish? They have fish. You want mushrooms? You will find about 20 kinds. Across the street is a branch of Le Printemps department store where there is an excellent cafeteria for a quick lunch. A large Monoprix is close by also. A great place to spend a Saturday morning.

We have several we really like....Saxe Breteuil in the 7th... Easy to walk there from our hotel...also, there are benches and we often have a picnic there .Rue Mouffetard.....great area..historic...and a great little hardware store half way through the market with wonderful market baskets...dancing and singing at the bottom of the hill but on Sunday morning unfortunately. Wonderful rotisserie chickens at the bottom of the hill , too. The President Wilson market in the 16th.......because they have wonderful scarves and lovely flowers...gets really really crowded ...it is just beautiful period.and my favorite the Porte des Vanves flea market because they have wonderful things my husband and I collect...hand tinted postcards, cameras viewers..and on and on. And on.
You really must go early to all of these markets. We go about 8 AM....most shut down at noon or 1. I have read many reviews about people who did not like Porte des Vanves and said they had nothing....well they went at 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
