For Italian, my favorite is Al Caratello. For modern French, it's L'Arcane. For old school French, Sacrée Fleur.

I like Le Moulin de la Galette on Rue Lepic. It has very good food, a historic location, and a friendly wait staff. You would probably need a reservation. Chez Plumeau on Place du Calvaire is a more casual choice but also fun. Relais de la Butte on Rue Ravignan is nice for a coffee or drink, or breakfast. (I didn't think too highly of the dinner I had there some years ago but it's pretty highly rated.) And there are a lot of lovely restaurants on Rue Abbesses when you get off the metro.
