Favorite places to stay in the Loire Valley?

We received so many wonderful recommendations about where to stay in Beaune and have reserved at Carpe Diem for our overnight and for dinner based on all the many comments.

Any recommendations for a B&B in the Loire Valley. We are looking around Ambois.

Again - many thanks to the community for helping us as we plan our trip.

Sara,
We'll be visiting Amboise in June & have booked our stay at ,'La Grange Chambres' B&B, recommended in RS France book & also by a forum friend.

Here is their website:http://www.la-grange-amboise.com

You will need to send an email requesting your room reservation.

Enjoy your trip!

It was a few years ago but we were very happy spending several nights at the Auberge de Launay. A car is essential. it sits on a road along the river across from Amboise. We did a lot of touring and it was a pleasure to be able to come and go without the hassle of driving in town. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We chose the breakfast/dinner option and were very pleased with the excellent meals and friendly service; really nice to be able to tour all day and not have to drag around looking for dinner. Then, we thought it was quite reasonably priced....definitely value for money. Breakfast was offered in a glassed conservatory type place, meals were served in the restaurant or the lovely garden patio. The restuarant seemed popular with many people who were not guests at the B&B. Ownership has since changed, but a quick look at current reviews still seem positive. We have also stayed at the Carpe Diem and rank the Auberge de Launay up there in memory lane. It is a beautiful region..have a great trip.

Although our hotel in Amboise was not a B&B, you might like to check it out:

It was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Amboise, and it had free parking on site. There was a lovely garden and swimming pool as well. I would definitely stay there again.

We took the RS recommendation and stayed at La Grange in October 2015. The location was great and the room comfortable. We appreciated the warm welcome and good breakfast. We parked several blocks away in the big free municipal parking lot.
We also stayed several nights in Vouvray and found it to be too small and lacking in restaurant choices.

I agree with the recommendations for La Grange Chambres in Amboise. My wife and I will be making our fourth visit to this lovely B&B and its charming owner in May. You'll love it.

I stayed in Vouvray in a great B&B called Bagatelle-Vouvray,the room was in a old wine cave and very nicely done, the breakfast was excellent and the owners sent us to good restaurants every night and on our last night they invited us to wine and snacks before dinner. They had on sight parking.
