Traveling to Paris end of September/early October for a week and looking for family-friendly lodging. It's been 5 years since my husband I have visited the City of Lights and now it's a toddler in tow and my in-laws (so 4 adults, 1 child).
I feel sheepish to ask this but I think this is still considered high season for Paris? I'm taken aback by how little is available. Already several RS-approved establishments have written back with no availability.
Any favorite options for the following:
2 hotel rooms - separate
2 hotel rooms that are adjoined
a 2bd/2bath apartment?
Looking to stay centrally (Marais, St Germain, etc)
In light of the crackdown on VRBO and AirBnB type places, what are the existing reliable apartment rental sites? Has anyone tried Apartments Actually? They were mentioned by Frommer but kind of suspicious that there are literally no reviews of them on the internet. I've looked at Cobblestone, parisperfect, parisforrent, parisattitude - all have limited options.
Budget is comfortable but not ridiculously extravagant (ie no Shangri La or Rosewood for us).
Thanks in advance for your advice.
