Hi! We will be in Nice in September with 2 young children. What casual/family-friendly cafes and restaurants do you recommend, especially in Old Nice? Thank you!

Our family has been taking kids to Pizza Cresci in Nice for four generations. My only hesitation is I think the quality has been down the last two times we were there.

In Old Town, we enjoy Acqua & Farina and Ristorante Pizzeria Caruso — and we always see happy families at both places. Also really like Helios for Greek food.

The Hippopotamus chain is widespread, including Nice. Bright and busy, with long hours, it now styles itself as a steak house. The name itself should appeal to kids and the menu may seem familiar. I Googled and found listings for Nice, but I am not familiar with that city so won't make suggestions of location.
As a general comment, Sunday brunch is when French families go out to dine.
