Eze Villlage

On our way to Monaco, we plan to stop in Eze Village. Prior to reading Rick's book, I had never heard of Eze Village. From what I read, it sounds interesting but I do not have a sense of how much time we should plan to get a feeling of the Village. Is this a location that deserves a 2 to 3 hour "walk through" the village? Or, should we plan on spending 6 to 8 hours and make it a one day trip from Nice?

I'd appreciate learning about what you may have experienced.

Thanks,

I spent an entire day there and for me, that was the right amount of time.

Hello Tom,

I am from the area (Vence). Plan a 2-3 hour walk through the village. Plenty of time to see Eze village. It is a very nice village, also very touristic. I would suggest before going to Eze village to take a ride to Fort Revere, not really to see the fort as it is closed, but go for the view. This is an impressive panorama over the French Riviera on one side and the Alps on the other side of the Fort. You can even see Corsica from there on a clear day If you have limited time, 1hr to walk around is enough. Don't miss this out. Locals often go there with family or just to take a walk. You won't regret it. Eze is down below with the crowds ;-) You can do both in half a day.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the insights. Can Fort Revere be reached by public transportation? Or, do we need to "Uber" from Eze Village?

I agree that 2-3 hours is sufficient. We found that when we were done we had to wait quite awhile for the bus.

I never took transportation as I have my own car here, but apparently there is a bus from Nice (#83) to a close drop off on Ave. des Diables Bleus, and then a 20 min walk? If I were you I would stop by the Nice tourism info office before going or the one in Eze (that perfectly knows that area and recommends it, I read it in the posts on Tripadvisor). Of course, you could take a taxi as well from Eze.

In 2017 I found the tourist office on the plaza outside the Nice Ville station to be very well-informed about surrounding towns and villages and very helpful.
