We arrived yesterday am and have been having a wonderful time. I received my health pass but despite applying twice my husband never received his. Almost everywhere has accepted his CDC card with the exception of one cafe. He decided to tested to get a QR code for 25 Euros (there are tents everywhere ) as a backup. He received results in 20 minutes with a code. No issue with museums and sites. They accept the card.
As an aside: We are staying on Rue Cler at a Rick Steves hotel recommendation and I love this area. It is wonderful. Easy to walk to many locations and full of shopping and cafes.
Great to hear, Amy! We like Rue Cler, too, and will be there next month!
We are here too and have had zero issue using CDC card. We get tested tomorrow anyway for return to US but zero issues with CDC card.
I was wondering if it made sense to start a post to have contributors list which restaurants accepted the paper CDC card in Paris but it sounds like almost all of them do. I wonder if it makes more sense to list the places which don’t accept the cards? Maybe not worth the effort?
@Kevin...I suspect that may be a moving target. At this moment the website is showing 138,000+ applications have been filed and 14,000+ have been completed. It's possible that as more "etrangers" visit, some locations may become more comfortable with accepting the CDC card.
Amy, good to hear your experience. Have you noted any restaurants that look closed on Rue Cler?
Rue Cler has many restaurants open and is bustling. Lots of restaurants to choose from everywhere we go. To answer an earlier post we have only had trouble at one cafe. He was very skeptical of the CDC card and turned us away. Out of an abundance of caution my husband got a 3 day QR code as backup. We are always asked for proof but card is almost always accepted.
