I'm thinking of going to the Orsay on Thursday night, then having dinner (Cafe Varenne or L'Ami Jean)...and then a Seine cruise
My other alternative would be Wednesday morning...but I like Thursday evening because it frees me up on Wednesday.
Does visiting the Orsay in the evening make a difference? I'd probably want to get there before normal closing at 6 to be sure I have enough time before dinner

I'm guessing because of the boat ride, you'll want a 7:30 seating for dinner. Many restaurants only have two seatings per night so you'll want to check that before you decide.
You can easily spend 3 hours in the Orsay, maybe more if you're really into Impressionism. I'd probably arrive more like 4:00.
Celeste, I think you’re right…even if I switch the cruise to another day, I’d still have the same issues. Ok, I’ll it be dining with Parisians, but at least I’d make my cruise, lol
4pm sounds about right, though I guess technically I wouldn’t be taking advantage of the late hours, lol
