European QR Code/Green Pass for Americans

Hey there - Looking for information on how fully vaccinated American travelers can obtain the EU Covid QR Code. We have a hotel who is requiring the EU code to stay. I've searched and every topic on the subject is at least 6 months old. Thank you in advance for any leads!

I don't think you can. You should find a new hotel who does not discriminate against non EU tourists. Honestly the EU Green Pass is rarely used if at all in daily life any more.

Thank you so much for your reply! Yes, that was my understanding as well which is why I was so surprised to get an email regarding this new policy of the hotel - very odd indeed! Might be time to look elsewhere. Thank you!

The hotel is out of the loop— The U.S. never developed a compatible system for Americans to obtain the European Covid vaccination
QR codes . We had to take our white CDC vaccination card to Europe and show it where required. Next year might be similar.

Send the hotel a note in English that it is not possible for Americans to obtain the Green code and therefore they have chosen to discriminate against American tourists. Then find another hotel.

How exactly are they "requiring" this? If it's just something listed on their website, it's probably just old info that was never updated/removed. Has someone specifically told you that this is a requirement?

I don't think the Green Pass/QR code has been used for quite a while and would be pretty surprised if hotels were demanding guests provided that. I would not suggest getting in a huff and accusing them of discrimination, more likely a misunderstanding, some one or some thing is just using old info or is confused. Maybe ask again nicely to be sure nothing has been lost in translation?

If they really are insisting on this, please post back here to confirm and let others know (because this sounds bat-guano crazy to me).

This is just not right. What is the hotel and where is it ?

The QR code / health pass hasn't been in use for a looooooong time now. I don't know why in the world they are even talking about it.

They probably never updated their confirmation email.
Not a big deal. To be sure just call them. Electronics are not a huge priority around here.

And if they do have a vaccination policy, or someone with a compromised immune system, you have your CDC card.

Since August 1, 2022, the state of health emergency and all measures concerning Covid19, tests, health passes, etc. on French territory have been repealed.

Only a negative test a the french borders could be requested, I quote:
"in the event of the appearance and circulation of a new variant of Covid-19 likely to constitute a serious health threat".

This hotel has not updated its website or email templates

Thank you all so much for your replies and for confirming what I was hoping to be the case!
To answer some of the questions posted, there is no mention of this on the website. I booked rooms at 2 different times and the second time got a reply saying this:
Starting from the 30th august, hotel Brighton will require to check your vaccination QR code on arrival. If you have not already requested your QR code to be converted to QR code for ‘Europe’, you can do so by emailing your request to the following email address :
Travelling from United states : [email protected]
Travelling from Canada : [email protected]
Travelling from all other countries : [email protected]

I received a cryptic response from the hotel this morning saying "be sure you or your guests really don’t need any QR code for hotel". I've already replied to clarify, hopefully lost in translation. This hotel in Paris looks lovely otherwise so here's hoping this is just some anomaly. Thanks again to all of you for your responses!

Hotel has confirmed no code required. Happy that's the case, unfortunate waste of time. Thanks again all!
