Europcar or Sixt in Dijon?

Hi,

Anyone have experience with Europcar or Sixt in Dijon? We have a car reserved with Sixt for June 17-20 (hybrid, automatic transmission). My Visa covers insurances and says I must decline rental coverages. I have never used either company before. Both are less than Avis. Are they reliable?

I’ve rented from both companies in France and from Sixt in the US and found them as reliable as any other car rental company. Maybe I’ve been lucky but I have had only two incidences when my car was not ready or in decent condition and those were with Hertz at CDG and at Alamo at JFK. On a side note, can you drive a manual transmission if no automatic is available? A couple of years ago, I drove a friend to Lyon airport to get an automatic transmission vehicle because there were none despite her confirmed reservation at the location in Dijon.

Yes, I can drive a manual if needed. I prefer not to on unfamiliar roads but at least it’s not the UK or Australia!
