ESTA from Air France

I received an email from Air France about my flight today in in a box at the tope of the page was this message:
Special USA formalities. Please ensure that the information you provided when you booked your flight is
accurate and that you have a valid ESTA authorization Request ESTA authorization

When I click on the link for the request it says access is denied.

Anyone else running in to this?

If you're a US citizen ESTA doesn't apply to you. It's for citizens of foreign countries visiting the US.

If you are a US Passport holder, you do not need an ESTA. Airlines often give blanket statements for legal reasons.

One wrinkle is if you are a dual citizen, they may be seeing your other passport, not realizing you have a US passport, so you may need to go to a service counter to clear your documentation

My Italian husband needs an ESTA to go to the United States.

I don't, because I have a U.S.passport.

The ESTA is for foreigners from countries that benefit from the Visa Waiver Program that allows them to visit the United States without having to apply for a visa because they are coming only for tourism purposes. It doesn’t apply to U.S. citizens,
