Hi folks -- I'm taking my then-13 year old to Paris and want to take her to Chantilly for a day trip to see the Royal Stables, and hopefully a horse show. I see a few options and am curious what folks recommend. Details most welcome (I haven't been to France in 20+ years, and I don't speak French!). Thanks in advance!
Just in case you have not seen this, here is a list of the shows through 5 January:

The best horse shows in France are those of the Cadre Noir. Their schedule is here:
I'm responding only because you haven't had much activity on your question. My visit was pre-Covid, things can change so I hesitate to give much detail about my visit. Hopefully a more recent visitor can give you some better impressions!
Based on the link above of current shows, we saw the equestrian demonstration - 30 minutes. The commentary was in French, but I don't think it would be necessary to understand everything said - this is a demonstration. I could understand the French, so it's hard for me to assess the performance without the commentary. We did enjoy the demo - I don't think the other shows linked above were available during our visit.
My friend and I spent 3/4 of a day at Chantilly, taking the train out of Paris and returning. We visited the stables and horse museum, then the chateau and gardens. As I recall, there was an English language audio guide for the chateau. The grounds were pleasant for walking. I found the chateau worth a visit - the art collection is one of the largest in France.
I suspect you will have a fine day no matter how you spend your time - lots of options for sightseeing/experiencing at Chantilly that aren't easily replicated in the US!
