Entry to Versailles at the Trianon palaces & Domaine

We are planning a visit to Versailles on a Friday Mid October and wanted to start at the Trianon Palaces and Domaine and end at the Chateau. I have a few questions that were unclear in the 2017 Paris book:
Where is the entrance at the Trianon Palaces?
My husband & I will have a Paris Museum Pass - can we enter At the Trainon Palace with a pass?
Our Children are all under 18 - can they get a free entry ticket at the Trianon Palace entrance or do we have to get those at the Chateau?
Thank you

Hello! We bought the Museum Pass and entered at the Trianon/Hamlet entrance. It was very confusing trying to find it. I would research the bus routes before going. Luckily, we asked a bus driver if she went there and she dropped us off at a stop near the Trianon. Without her, we would have been lost, as the tourist information shop was closed for lunch. I don't even remember if they asked for a pass. I think we showed it anyways, but there were only 2 men at the entrance and no one else (not even guests!).

We always prefer to enter the palace grounds at the St. Anthony Gate right near the Petite Hameau and the Trianons...even so it's a LOT of walking unless you have a car or bikes. If you have a car you can drive right onto the grounds and there are car parks near all the main parts of the palace and grounds you will want to visit - just drive to the next car park, visit, and then move on. Far less crowded and easier than trying to enter at the front of the palace. If you are taking a taxi from the train station you can ask your driver to drop you off at that gate and walk in - again, be warned...it's A LOT of walking. .

There is a map of the entire estate of Versailles on the official website, so you can see just where you want to go.

Versailles is truly gigantic, so be prepared to do a lot of walking.

You may already know that the Trianon/Hamlet do not open until 12:00 noon. The Museum Pass is good for everything except the music/fountain shows. Lots of helpful info at: http://en.chateauversailles.fr/ ... .including this: "If you qualify for free admission, go directly to entrance A in the Dufour Pavilion when you arrive at the Palace, with proof of your right to free entry and proof of identity." I didn't see what constitutes "proof", but it's probably a good idea to have their passports. (There's a "button" on the welcome page for English.)
