Thank you for sharing.
There are city links at the bottom of the weblink above for doctor care, major cities in Italy and Spain. Their website also lists insurance companies they direct bill, GeoBlue is direct bill.

You can also contact the embassy, they have a list. I believe Rick also mentions two hospitals that can be of assistance.

Martin, we could not get the link you posted to load. Did anyone else have trouble with it?

I think for a tourist, who could be a bit panicked about how to get medical care in English, this is a good solution and people should tuck this info away. For those of us living in France, it's outrageously expensive, but not when you're coming from the States. If I were a tourist here, I would probably use this service. LOL I paid $300 while visiting my family in the US, or one of my insurances paid it, to some video doctor who prescribed that Covid drug everyone was taking back during the pandemic. We do what we have to do.

The Embassy has a limited list, while SOS medicins has morphed somewhat into clinics where you have to make an appointment. In the old days we could call SOS for a doctor's visit and be seen at home the same day, a service we used many times, the last being 2007. No matter, SOS medecins is a good address to keep for when you need a medical visit while in France.

A sick traveler's first stop should be at their hotel's front desk. They will know about doctors.

That's how we found the visiting doc who saved our vacation in Vienna.

Back in the day, one would go to the American Express office. That's how we found the dentist who saved our vacation in Paris once.
